The Pinscher is used mainly as a companion dog and as a guard. It is a friendly and intelligent dog, and it loves to learn. It must be trained and socialized from early on, and it must never be left unsupervised in the company of other pets or small children. It is a very energetic dog and therefore needs plenty of daily exercise. It is by its nature a fearless and protective dog, and is always on guard, and therefore is ideal as a house-guard or a bodyguard.
The Pinscher looks like a middle-sized Doberman. Its height ranges from 43 to 50 cm tall, and it weighs from 11 to 16 kilos. Its coat is short, thick and smooth, and it does not require regular grooming.
